Mr. Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury, Chairman Mr. Anwar-ul Alam Chowdhury, Chairman of Evince Textiles Limited, is a dynamic professional businessman with more than 31 years of experience. He established his first venture “Evince Garments Limited” in 1983, and since then he, by dint of his leadership, has achieved a massive expansion in his business ventures – both vertically and horizontally. A number of companies have been set up during the process and all of those are running successfully. He obtained his MBA from USA in 1983. He has been associated with the activities of Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) for over eleven years. He was the President of BGMEA during 2007-2008 and brought about significant improvements in the garments sector during his tenure as the President. He was also a Director of FBCCI.
Currently, he is a member of Dutch Bangla Chamber, Malaysia Bangladesh Chamber and Diabetic Association. Mr. Chowdhury is also associated with a number of social and philanthropic organizations.

Mrs. Shabnam Shehnaz Chowdhury, Vice Chairman Mrs. Shabnam Shehnaz Chowdhury, Vice Chairman of Evince Textiles Limited, obtained her Master’s Degree from University of Dhaka. She has wide experience in Management, Procurement, HR and Internal Audit in the Garments and Textile sector. She holds shares of several organizations. She is associated with various cultural and philanthropic organizations.

Mr. Abu Kawser Majumder, Managing Director Mr. Abu Kawser Majumder, an MBA from IBA, Dhaka University, is a dynamic and energetic personality. He started his career in Marketing Department in BEXIMCO Group and then joined Argon Denims Limited at 2006 and continuing there at present. He joined as a Director in ETL at December 20, 2012 and started to play the role of Managing Director from June 03, 2013. He is also a Director of Argon Denims Limited, Argon Jeans Limited, Argon Spinning Limited and Evitex Fashion Limited of the Evince Group. He is an excellent business entrepreneur and a bona fide Businessman.

Mr. Md. Akhter Shahid, Director Mr. Akhter Shahid is a Director of the company. He completed his Bachelors of Arts Degree in 1983 under University of Dhaka. He has worked in marketing function all along and joined ETL on December 20, 2012. He is responsible for the Merchandising function of the company and therefore plays a vital role in the negotiations with the buyers. He possesses share-holdings in several industrial undertakings.

Mr. A.K. Gouhor Rabbani, Director Mr. A.K. Gouhor Rabbani has completed MBA from the Islamic University, Chittagong. He has gathered his experience working with different internationally reputed Textile and Garments organization in the marketing and export arena. He is one of the experienced professional of Argon Denims Ltd and possesses more than 25 years working knowledge in Apparel and Textile fields. He has brilliant and mentionable contribution to the Industry and the company. Being a bona fide businessman he possesses shareholding in several industrial undertakings.

Mr. Shah Adeeb Chowdhury, Director Mr. Shah Adeeb Chowdhury is also a Director of the company. He has graduated from EIILM, Business School, Delhi, India. He joined the company on a full time basis immediately after his graduation and did his internship in different departments of the company. He is currently engaged in different sectors, including “Information Technology”, in his attempt to both contribute to the growth and development of the company as well as increase his own knowledge and understanding of the product and the industry as a whole. He possesses share-holdings in several industrial undertakings.

Mr. Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Director Mr. Shah Rayeed Chowdhury obtained his BBA Cum Laude Honors degree in Business Management from Pace University, New York. Upon completion of his higher studies, he has joined the company in 2013. In order to gain more practical experience in the field of finance, he has worked in a financial institution prior to joining the company. As the youngest member of the board, Mr. Chowdhury’s constant research and development of modern means of taking the company forward, acts as a driving force for the company.

Mr. Shahjahan Bhuiyan, Independent Director Mr. M Shahjahan Bhuiyan is an independent director of Argon Denims Limited. He was Managing Director & CEO, Prime Bank and United Commercial Bank (UCB) during 2003-2012. After doing his masters in Finance & Accounting from University of Rajshahi started his career in banking during 1970 under State Bank of Pakistan, Mr. Bhuiyan has to his credit more than four decades of eventful and illustrious banking career. He was honored as Kriti Banker by the Bangladesh Bank for his outstanding contribution in banking sector of the country. He was an independent Director for two terms (on three years each term) since December 2015 in Bank Asia Ltd. He has illustrious contribution in developing banking products & benefit for the welfare of employees of all strata in Prime Bank & UCBL His unique role for creating entrepreneur most favorable for business & employment generation for over two decades are very memorable. |

Mr. Md. Hedayet Ullah Chowdhury, Independent Director Md. Hedayet Ullah Chowdhury is a former Additional Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh with over three decades of distinguished service in public administration, economic planning, public finance, and development management. His illustrious career combines leadership in governance, policy formulation, and institution building across diverse sectors. Mr. Chowdhury holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and a Master’s in Economics of Development (MEcoDev) from the Australian National University (ANU) as an AusAid Scholar of the Government of Australia. He began his professional career as a Staff Economist at the Rural Enterprise Project (REP) of the Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC)—one of the leading NGOs in socio-economic development—where he contributed to assessing rural livelihoods, investment potentials, and enterprise sustainability for poverty alleviation. In government service, he held key positions in the Ministry of Finance (Economic Relations Division – ERD), Planning Commission (GED), ECNEC Secretariat, Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD), and the Ministry of Home Affairs. He played pivotal roles in major national initiatives including the Machine Readable Passport (MRP) and E-Passport projects, as well as in the nationwide establishment of fire stations. Mr. Chowdhury worked closely with international development partners such as the World Bank, UNDP, JICA, and IDB, focusing on economic reform, social development, and public finance in donor-funded projects. Earlier in his career, he also gained professional experience in investment banking and portfolio management at Al Baraka Bank, the first Shariah-based multinational financial institution in Bangladesh. With extensive exposure and training in more than 15 countries in strategic management, economic policy, and governance, Mr. Chowdhury brings to the Board a strong global perspective and proven expertise in institutional development, good governance, and regulatory oversight. His strategic insight, policy experience, and commitment to transparency continue to add significant value to Evince Textiles Limited’s vision for sustainable and responsible growth. |
